Event description

Description

Curious Minds, Culture Bridge North East and IVE invite you to LCEPs North 2017 - the annual conference for Local Cultural Education Partnerships in the North of England.

Building on the success of last year, the day will provide a range of opportunities for networking, peering learning and CPDL. We’ll have themed discussion groups, regional breakouts and talks, provocations and keynotes from leading voices in the cultural education sector – excited? You should be!

We have 3 places available for each LCEP. The day will start at 10:30 with refreshments on arrival and formal proceedings kicking off at 10:45. Lunch will be provided, and the day will close at 17:00. For more information about how to get to MOSI, please see: https://www.msimanchester.org.uk/visit-us

We do ask that you sign up to your preferred discussion groups as part of the booking process. You’ll have the chance to attend 2 of the sessions listed below. Please liaise with your colleagues before booking as places are limited.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact: louise.hesketh@curiousminds.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you there!

Themed discussion groups:

Measuring impact: back by popular demand! Hear from other LCEPs about the types of outcomes they’ve achieved or are working towards, as well as different approaches to measuring impact.

Getting schools on board: LCEPs come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes getting the balance of cultural and education representation can be tricky. If you’re looking to get more schools involved in your LCEP this session will explore a number of approaches (including Artsmark) for growing school engagement.

Show me the money: we know there’s no ‘magic money tree’ but how are LCEPs funding themselves and related delivery? This session will look at different examples from across the country and give participants a chance to share their fundraising top tips.

It’s all about quality: how have you explored issues of quality through your LCEP? What frameworks do you or your partner organisations use to measure quality? How are people using the Arts Council’s Quality Principles?

Progression: what does this mean for your LCEP? How are you planning for and capturing evidence of progression – through learning, into employment or in the way that children and young people engage with culture?

Three cheers for the Chairs: (morning only) – this is an open session for the Chairs of LCEPs to share their experiences, challenges and questions with each other, and with those who may be taking on the role

Peer learning (afternoon only) – the LCEP North conference is a great way to bring everyone together but how else can LCEPs learn from and support each other, and what could Bridge organisations do to help?
