LCF Welcome: African waist beading workshop

This event is open to London of College of Fashion students only as part of the LCF Welcome events 2025 series.

Make your own waist-beads in this creative workshop, learn the meaning, design your strand, and take it home.

Step into a space of tradition, creativity, and self-expression as you learn the art of waist-bead making. More than just beautiful adornments, waist-beads carry deep cultural meaning, representing femininity, strength, spirituality, and personal milestones.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll:

• Learn about the cultural history and significance of waist-beads

• Design and create your own strand using vibrant beads and elastic

• Take home a beautiful, custom piece made by you

All materials provided - just bring your creativity and good energy. No experience needed!

No need to book, this session is drop-in.
