LCGD Spring Info Bursts | Beyond the concept - what happens next?
Event Information
About this event
Our new season of info bursts invites 3 LCGD tutors from the UK and Australia, some from our successful Construction Design Certificate programme, to talk about design detail and finish.
Join us online over 3 evenings where we’ll hear about the importance they place on getting the details right, choosing materials and engaging with landscapers to get the best possible result.
We’ve asked our speakers to show real project case studies to learn about their processes and the importance they place on design detail and a great finish.
You will learn -
- How they approach their detailed design once the concept has been agreed.
- The challenges and solutions they have used on individual projects.
- New design ideas for landscapes and gardens on different scales.
- How they approach each design and build project.
There will be time at the end to ask your questions in conversation with Andrew Wilson and Andrew Fisher Tomlin, LCGD Directors.
OUR INFO BURSTS RAISE FUNDS FOR 5 HORTICULTURAL CHARITIES – MORE DETAILS ON OUR WEBSITE.

COS Design was formed in early 2000 by Steve Taylor and has since become one of the country’s most highly regarded and awarded design companies. He is a Registered Building Practitioner and fully qualified Landscape Designer with Landscape Architects and qualified Draftspersons on his team
Steve teaches on the London College of Garden Design Melbourne Garden Design program. He is regularly invited to judge design and construction categories for both Landscaping Victoria Master Landscapers’ and Master Landscapers of South Australia’s annual Awards of Excellence. Difficult sites with challenging levels, access and environmental restrictions are Steve’s specialty due his extensive construction experience, core engineering principals, and his in-depth understanding of building codes and local laws requirements.
- Tuesday 8th March at 5pm Kate Gould
Kate was encouraged by her parents to garden from a young age. What started out as simple hobby grew into a successful lifelong career. Kate Gould Gardens was started in 1998 out of Kate’s bedroom. 20 years and 5 Chelsea gold medals later, Kate has a design and build business and is one of the most sought after garden designers in London with an enviable knowledge of construction detail.
But she hasn’t forgotten where it all began. It’s very likely you’ll still find her with her hands in the dirt, installing the latest exquisite planting scheme she has dreamt up. It’s this warmth and approachability that gives her the ability to work along with her clients. This, coupled with her passion, experience and strength of visualisation, is a tried and tested combination that yields beautiful results every time.
Kate is a tutor on a number of our professional development programmes.
