Description

Le Pub Scientifique - Talking the pain out of patients

This May we’re proud to introduce Morten Hoegh from Denmark. Morten aims to pull apart the current evidence relating to pain neurobiology education.

“Can we talk pain out of the patient?”

Given the growing interest and increasing number of studies into explaining pain, are there discrepancies in the research methods or findings and the tranlsation of this therapeutic approach into clinical use?

Morten, armed with Danish humour (and maybe his favourite tipple a glass of Champagne?), will review the role of narrative and psychoeducation in the clinical setting; challenge our assumptions regarding pain neurobiology education; and no doubt give us inspiration for our continued clinical journeys.

Morten Hoegh

Morten Hoegh is a rare breed – a true clinical academic. He works, as a physiotherapist, specialising in the treatment of persistent pain conditions; lectures internationally on pain-related topics; is a researcher with the world-renowned Centre for Neuroplasticity and Pain in Aarlborg University; and sits on (and chairs) a number of committees committed to the development and improvement of pain education and treatment delivery for the person in pain.

As a side note – be in awe that he can hold such a high level of discourse with English as his third language. We can’t wait!
