With a limited number of spaces, each athlete receives tailored coaching and individualized video analysis, ensuring maximum progression. Each day focuses on a key phase of the stroke, allowing rowers to methodically refine their technique while applying adjustments in real-time on the water. Daily themes include recovery and catch timing and rhythm.

Daily Breakdown

  • Lunch & Recovery – Time to reset, fuel properly, and review insights.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

It is possible a water session may be cancelled for the following reasons:

  • Weather: If lightning or excessively high wind speeds, freezing or really hot temperatures are forecast making it dangerous to be on the water, we will be indoors.
  • Staffing: We always ensure we have a good ratio of coaches to athletes, if any any point we are unable to maintain a sufficient ratio, we will have a land session instead.
  • Illness: We understand that becoming ill is unavoidable however unless we're able to fill your child's space before the start of the course we will not be able to issue a refund.

Frequently asked questions

What does my child need to wear during the sessions?

We suggest gym wear that is not baggy. For water sessions, please ensure no jumpers or tracksuit bottoms are worn instead wear multiple fitted layers to stay warm. In the rare event of a capsize, these will become water logged which can be dangerous. Sunscreen must be worn in warmer sessions.

Will my child be rowing for the entire two hours?

No, we aim to maximize time on the water, but the session also includes warm-ups, cool-downs, and time for boat setup.

Will my child get wet?

You may get slightly splashed, but not soaked by the end of a session. We recommend bringing spare clothes just in case of capsizing.

I can't afford it. Do you offer bursaries or can you subside the cost?

Absolutely. We would hate for cost to be a limiting factor for your child getting on the water. Please email jamila.sinclair@learc.org.uk with information about your circumstances and supporting documents so we can apply for subsidy on your behalf. This offer is limited per course.

I've not rowed before is this course suitable for me?

No - this course is for intermediate rowers only. We suggest that having a least one years experience on a rowing programme is fundamental. Please see our Learn to Row Courses that also run during the holiday.
