*** ONLY TWO PLACES LEFT ***
Based on Arbinger's bestselling book - Leadership and Self Deception, this two day seminar takes a deeper look at applying its principles in the workplace, creating a leadership style and organisational culture that achieves results through people and relationship rather than at the expense of them.
Organisational problems are almost always people problems. Despite continuous efforts to find solutions, organizations seem to still exhibit symptoms fed by blame, lack of accountability, complacency and competing objectives. What if we could uncover the root cause to why this occurs and why people feel others cause problems and they do not? At Arbinger, we believe that despite the best efforts and intentions of leaders to create high performance teams and organizations, they fall short and are often unsuccessful because there is a deeper problem or disease that has not been addressed.
Arbinger has discovered a solution that is at the heart of the human sciences and organizational dynamics: the problem is self-deception. Stated simply, self-deception is "the problem of not knowing one has a problem". This denial keeps individuals, teams, and organizations blind to the reality of how they are contributing to the problems and why enormous resources and efforts allocated towards symptoms are misdirected and do not result in sustainable solutions

Testimonials for Arbinger's work
If there were a prize for the most sceptical senior management team in terms of what an Arbinger course could achieve I suspect our team might have won it. However, after two days of intense workshops with Alec, our team had found a new cohesiveness, openness and awareness of others that we all felt was immensely valuable. Very importantly our workshop gave us a common language with which to have open, productive discussions and a much greater understanding of our own and each other’s behaviour. Alec’s passion for his material and his energy in delivering the course was a fundamental part of the success of our two days – I would highly recommend both Alec and the Arbinger material to any management team trying to realise the best of their potential.

“Extraordinary… Five Stars.”
– Business Ethics
" The master class on Leadership & Self Deception provided me with an opportunity to explore how much other people's behaviour towards me is governed by my predisposition towards them i.e. whether I was seeing them 'in the moment' as a person, or merely a object to either work around or put to my disposal. Working outside the box, like all deceptively simple models, is a hard and challenging creed to follow but what is equally clear is that the rewards of doing so can have such a profound and positive effect on an individual's well being and productivity. When considered at a team, departmental or even organisational level, then the opportunity to transform inter and intra-organisational relationships by breaking down age-old collusions could result in substantial cost savings and service improvement"
David Young, Head of Leadership Development, University Hospital, Southampton
"I've known the work of the Arbinger Institute for years. Arbinger's ideas are profound, with deep and sweeping implications for organizations. This book, Leadership and Self-Deception, provides the perfect introduction to this material. It is engaging and fresh, easy to read, and packed with insight. I couldn't recommend it more highly."
-Stephen Covey, Author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People

“Arbinger has really hit the mark. As a management consultant in Europe, I’ve seen this book create more interest within our clients than any other leadership philosophy.”
– Peter Foggin, Management Consultant, UK
“Leadership and Self-Deception holds up a brutally honest mirror to behaviour in which we all indulge to justify our shortcomings. The result is not self-remorse or punishment but a glimpse of a life to be lived with integrity and freed of the boundaries and constraints we inflict upon ourselves and others. I am always excited to watch Arbinger’s thinking help my clients unlock painful family disputes and lead them to resolution.”
– Neil Denny, Family Lawyer, Wiltshire, UK
“My business partners and I built a health-care company on the ideas in this book. We are amazed at what it has helped us achieve. Careful reading and re-reading of this book has proven better than any productivity, team building, or leadership training we’ve encountered.”
