Leadership Challenge Day Event - Longmoor
The Army in the South East Challenge Day provides an opportunity to take part in a series of team challenges delivered by the Army which will allow you to develop teamwork and leadership skills and learn about yourself whilst taking part in fun, interactive activities.
For EMPLOYEES/EMPLOYERS (Aged 18+)
Participants will work as part of a team to solve a range of mental and physical challenges. You will learn more about the Army and its people and it will provide an insight into how we get the best out of our people. You will have the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills and consider how you can build confidence, resilience and courage in yourself and others. You will learn skills and techniques that can be taken back and applied in your own workplace whilst also gaining an insight into the variety of roles carried out by the Army.
The event is not strenuous, anyone with a reasonable level of fitness can participate, you just need to be willing to ‘have a go’. It's also not a competition, it's about you and your team learning to be the best they can be. The event takes place outdoors and the facilities are functional but basic. The event is not weather dependent therefore participants should prepare accordingly.
OVERVIEW
We will be grouping individuals into teams of 12.
Please ensure you add your organisation name into your details so we can try and put you all together in a team.
One ticket is for one individual, you will need to book as many tickets as you require to cover those attending.
Individuals/teams will compete in a series of Army themed challenges, using teamwork, communication, and leadership skills to compete against other teams.
Lunch for all participants will be provided via ration packs. These come in Meat, Vegetarian & Halal, if you have specific dietary requirements we recommend bringing your own packed lunch on the day.
Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear to be worn (Sports kit acceptable) , coloured bibs (to be worn over clothing) and safety equipment will be provided by us.
The aim of the event is to promote understanding and awareness of the Army with themed challenges amongst young people; seeking to raise their confidence, self-esteem, and resilience through a range of exciting and challenging activities.
OUTLINE PROGRAMME
0830hrs - Arrival and Registration
1000hrs - Opening Address
1030hrs - Stand Rotations 1-4 (30 minutes per stand including rotation)
1230hrs - Lunch
1330hrs - Stand Rotations 5-8 (30 minutes per stand including rotation)
1530hrs - Closing Address
1600hrs - Dispersal
COST:
We do not charge for participation in this event and all candidates including leaders will receive a ration pack during the day. You are however responsible for making your own transport arrangements to and from the event (ample free parking available). We would however ask that if you decide not to attend, you cancel your ticket at the earliest opportunity so that others may benefit from your place.

TICKETS & ATTENDANCE:
If you are booking on behalf of your organisation you can book multiple tickets to make up a full team, just make sure each ticket has the individuals name and contact details.If you are booking indivuidually please ensure you add your organisation name in full so when we come to team allocations we can try and put you into teams with the rest of your colleagues. If your organisation has more or less than 12 participants attending please be aware you will be grouped with others to make up full teams.

Frequently asked questions
You will need to seek advise from a medical professional if you wish to participate in the event if you have a new/long term injury or are pregnant. Most stands have a physical element to them and the event is held on uneven surfaces. We are not medically trained to give approval.
This event runs from 0830-1600hrs, we ask for you to be able to attend for the entire day as you cannot leave the area unescorted and all staff members will be busy running this event, if you cannot attend for the entire day please consider someone else taking your place.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate for allergies, our ration packs come in (meat,vegetarian & halal) please bring your own packed lunch if you you have specific dietary requirements.
This event is entirely free however we ask for you to be able to make your own transport to and from the event.
