Leadership Development in Practice
Wed 23 November 2016, 18:00 – 20:30 GMT
What is leadership and how does it impact me and my business?
Is my organisation actively engaging and preparing the leaders we will need for the future?
These are questions HR and L&D professionals are constantly asking themselves when it comes to creating a leadership pipeline and designing a programme to improve leadership capabilities.
Because there’s no single template for leadership behaviour, questions remain as to whether leaders can be developed and what the qualities (or competencies) of leadership are. More importantly, how can organisations bring out such qualities among their employees?
With reference to a number of real-life examples from a variety of business sectors and theory behind different Leadership Development Programmes that you most likely read about, our speaker, Stuart Haden, will explore some key principles on identifying and designing a sustainable leadership development programme for your organisation.
At the end of the session you will be able to:
• Assess what other organisations are doing and what works when it comes to leadership development
• Recognise the core principles in creating a leadership development programme for your organisation
• Identify and develop capabilities of individuals to lead others effectively (leader development)
• Develop organisational structures and a culture that enables leadership.
This will be a lively and interactive session with opportunities for you to ask questions as well as share and develop your thoughts around Leadership.
