Description

Goodpractice Australia is hosting a special breakfast seminar for L&D professionals and practitioners on Wednesday 16th August from 7.30am to 9.00am.

We are delighted to announce that our special guest will be renowned author and practitioner, Nigel Paine. Nigel will be talking about the findings from his latest book, Building Leadership Development Programmes in a session titled:

"Beyond the comfort zone: Leadership development lessons from an Antarctic exploration"

Disconnection and discomfort are key ways in which we can challenge our status quo and help new ideas emerge. With this in mind, Nigel travelled to Antarctica to take part in an exciting expedition with Foundation 2041.

His aim was to discover whether being part of a life-changing experience would translate into tangible, long-lasting behavioural change for the participants of the expedition. In this interactive presentation, Nigel will share:

  • What the participants did after this life-changing opportunity

  • How the expedition affected and enhanced their leadership skills

  • The key lessons for L&D practitioners about leadership development

  • How disconnection and dislocation can help you rethink and reimagine your approach to leadership development
