Leadership in These Times

Facing Reality | Claiming Leadership | Restoring Sanity

"We need leaders who recognize what harm is being done to people and planet through practices that dominate, ignore, abuse, and suppress the human spirit."

We are excited to offer a rare one day seminar with Meg Wheatley, a woman who has inspired a generation of leaders to step forward and serve. She will lead a deep then-and-now inquiry into how we move forward in these troubled times. She is co-founder and President of a global non-profit, The Berkana Institute (www.berkana.org), an organizational consultant since 1973, a global citizen since her youth, and a prolific writer. She has authored nine books, beginning with the classic Leadership and the New Science (1992).

We will come together for a day of exploration, both from the larger perspective and also the personal in exploring how our own leadership has changed, intentionally and unconsciously as well. We are thrilled to be working with Meg on this, and we're confident it's going to be a profound and thought-provoking day. Everyone who is wondering how to create 'islands of sanity' in their teams, organisations and communities – or wherever they have influence - will find the event exciting, challenging and forward focussed.

Meg writes: “We need leaders who recognize what harm is being done to people and planet through practices that dominate, ignore, abuse, and suppress the human spirit. We need leaders brave enough to create islands of sanity in the midst of a turbulent and destructive sea. Sane leadership is the unshakeable faith in people’s capacity to be generous, creative and kind. It is the deep knowing that, even in the most dire circumstances, more becomes possible as people engage together with compassion and discernment, self-determining their way forward.”

We welcome those on the threshold of leadership, as well as those already steeped in leadership across the spectrum of companies and organisations. A small number of bursaries are offered to those beginning their careers - please contact us for information. All participants will also be able to purchase a signed copy of Meg's new book 'Who Do We Choose To Be?' at 50% of the normal price.

If all this sounds of interest, please reserve your place now by replying to us, as places will be limited. We will make sure we send you full details as soon as they are available.
