About this event

We are extremely pleased to announce the re-start of our Breakfast Leadership Seminars, albeit virtually.

We would like to invite you to attend our virtual Leadership Seminar on 18th November. The Leadership Seminars support our Vision 2024 aspirations for the Borough to be enterprising, talented, resilient, kind, distinctive. On this occasion the seminar will be led by Richard Brown from Arts Council England. There will also be a response from a Calderdale Officer to give a Calderdale prospective and highlight our work in the area.

This Seminar will cover the Arts as a catalyst for change. The Arts is facing a huge challenge in its sustainability with Covid-19 heavily impacting the sector. Live music venues and theatres are still unable to reopen. This event will highlight how the sector hopes to recover and the current landscape it is facing. The Arts will be vital to our recovery forming a key component of our high street and domestic tourism offering. We will look at the future of the Arts and how it will aid our recovery from the financial and mental impact of Covid-19.

The event will give an insight into the cultural landscape highlighting the obstacles to be overcome. As well focusing on the future of the sector and its position in the future of our recovery work. The role of arts and culture in Calderdale has been key to our tourism offer which has been a growing component of our local economy. It will form a key part of our effort to recover from the impact of Covid-19.

Our next webinar will be on tackling inequality, an area in which the impact of Covid-19 has further highlighted inequalities in our society. This will take place in January further details will be released closer to the time.

We really hope you can join us for this event. Please confirm your interest by registering for a free ticket. The webinar details will then be sent to you.

Kind Regards,

Matthew Winder
