Leadership Skills for Beginners
Tuesday, 8 November 2016 from 14:00 to 16:00 (GMT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Aims of the session
This session enables participants to feel confident in their ability to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes as leaders.
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
Describe the influence of a leader in their personal lives
Discuss the knowledge, skills and attitudes of an effective leader
Identify activities that will help them to develop their leadership skills
The session begins with a small group activity involving world leaders and their skills. Participants will then complete a worksheet asking them to consider personal experiences of leadership. This is followed by an ideastorm on how people become leaders. The knowledge, skills and attitudes of effective leaders is considered in group work, and then an ideastorm identifies what a leader does. The session finishes with small groups drawing the ideal leader, and thinking about ways in which they can practice those skills.
This workshop is only open to London Met students/staff/and those that graduated in the last three years. No public admittance.
