Description
Introduction:
This course is part of a wider programme of investment to support skills development for staff in local businesses. The investment aims to address skills shortages and courses have been identified through consultation with businesses and industry bodies. Delegates must be Entitled or Entitled for work*
Target audience:
This session is for supervisors, team leaders or managers who want to learn more about leadership and how to develop their skills as a leader
Course content:
The session will focus on the following
- Understanding the difference between leaders and managers
- Power versus influence
- Understanding a range of leadership styles, your own preferred style and how to adapt
- Leading by example and role modelling
- Grit and resilience
- Creating a positive culture in your team
- Emotional intelligence for leadership
- Strategic thinking and creating vision, goals and a longer term perspective
Sessions will involve a range of learning activities and draw on delegates own experience as managers and leaders

* delegates should report to reception on arrival
* Parking is free on site
