Overview

Many leaders know what they need to do - have a difficult conversation, motivate a disengaged team member, or rebuild trust - but they often lack the how. This course bridges that gap by developing the essential soft skills of emotional intelligence, empathy, communication and conflict navigation, equipping leaders to act with confidence and compassion.

This course is designed for:

Deputy Headteachers, Assistant Heads, Heads of Year, Department Heads, Middle Leaders, SENDCos and Business Managers.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the day, delegates will:

  • Understand how communication influences team culture, motivation and performance.
  • Build skills to communicate with empathy, clarity, and emotional intelligence.
  • Explore tools for managing feedback and conflict in a constructive way.
  • Strengthen team development through trust-building and motivation strategies.
  • Gain strategies to prioritise effectively and lead with greater focus and confidence.

Benefits & Impact

Participants will:

  • Build empathy and emotional intelligence to lead high-performing, motivated teams.
  • Communicate clearly, reducing misunderstandings and increasing alignment.
  • Develop skills to manage difficult conversations and conflict effectively.
  • Learn tools to prioritise and delegate clearly, avoiding team burnout and confusion.
  • Build trust and psychological safety - cornerstones of a successful team culture.
