We are repeatedly reminded that change is inevitable as part of a VUCA economic and societal context, where digital disruption and political change add to the turbulence.

Compared with millennials and previous generations, the leaders of the future have different expectations of leadership development. Generally, they will be less hierarchical, demand a more direct communication style and have more emphasis and value on their own mental wellbeing.

So what does this mean for HR?

The webinar will cover

  • What does good (and poor) senior leadership look like now and in the future?
  • How can HR best support the selection and development of senior leaders?
  • How can different leadership approaches impact on workforce planning, employee relations, communication etc?
  • What do we require from our leaders to help HR deliver in the future

This session will look at how HR professionals can develop and use their skills to support and enable leaders. It supports the following elements of the CIPD Profession Map:

  • Core knowledge – Culture and behaviour
  • Core behaviours – Valuing people / ethical practice/professional courage & influence
  • Specialist knowledge – Organisational development

Guest speaker: David D'Souza - Director of Profession

David is responsible for growing our membership and ensuring a strong connection with the profession, enabling us to understand how to continually improve our support for our members. Before joining the CIPD, David worked as an independent consultant, having held previous roles across a range of financial services and retail organisations.

Described as one of the UK’s most influential HR and workplace commentators, David is a respected and in-demand speaker and writer on progressive HR and business practice. He has expertise in a wide range of areas, including organisational development and culture, learning and development, corporate ethics, employee engagement and the future of work.
