Event description
Join us to explore the leadership required to create meaningful change in schools!

About this event

The last two years has shown us two big things; firstly, that it is self-evident that schools are about more than just delivering on narrow academic standards. Secondly, that school leaders, and headteachers in particular, play an absolutely vital role in defining the role schools play in their communities and making that happen.

At Big Education, we believe that change is needed in how we think about the purpose of education, and how we shape what and how we think about learning. A growing movement of teachers and leaders are finding ways to explore and deliver on this more expansive view of education.

We need leaders who can navigate the status quo whilst also shaping a different future, who collaborate and learn with others to find new solutions to old problems.

In this session, we are exploring what that leadership needs to be like - and offer support and advice for those on that journey. We hope you will join us.

You will hear from:

  • Adrian McLean, Trust Lead for Character & Personal Development, Severn Academies
  • Annabelle Jameel, Assistant Principal, Haberdashers Academy
  • James Pope, Founder of Heads up for HTs and Director at Whole Education
  • Jennifer Barker, Dean of Learning Design, Ambition Institute
  • Kiran Mahil, Assistant Headteacher, Central Foundation for Girls
  • Liz Robinson, Co-Director, Big Education
  • Mo Jafar, Lecturer in Sport, Physical Education and Development, University of East London
  • Siwan Davies, Director of Scaling Impact, Fair Education Alliance
  • Steve Munby, Consultant/Speaker on leadership, Chair; Teaching Awards Trust; Visiting Professor at UCL and at Liverpool Hope.
