Event description
This workshop aims to help managers support, refocus and re-energise their team on the return to the workplace

About this Event

For managers bringing your team back to working from the office comes with a range of challenges but also opportunities. Some of your team members may be glad to get back to routine and have the opportunity to converse with their co-workers through the day, while others could resist the requirement to return to daily commutes and water-cooler chats. A recent poll found that two-thirds of UK workers are resistant to returning to office working.

Regardless of how individuals feel about returning to the office, most will struggle to adapt back to old routines and may suffer from lack of energy, focus and motivation while they go through another change process and settle back into office working. However, the return to the office can provide the catalyst required to re-energise your team, refocus your goals and values and, along with your team, reinvent your ways of working to enable success in the post-COVID world.

What’s Covered?

This workshop aims to equip managers with an understanding of the change process and its effects on individuals, positive psychology, communication skills and coaching skills to help managers refocus and re-energise their team on the return to the workplace

Our workshop facilitator will then work with you through a number of real-life employee scenarios based on common challenges faced by our clients during the post-COVID return to office working, and assist the group in identifying and prioritising potential solutions to their personal challenges.

This open workshop will provide managers with the opportunity for shared learning around their challenges and opportunities through discussion with managers from a range of other organisations.

You will leave the session with an individual action plan outlining a step-by-step plan for the return to the office, including:

  • Determining the level of engagement and motivation in your team
  • Re-motivating and re-focusing your team members
  • Supporting staff through fears and anxiety of returning to the workplace, including COVID-19 health concerns
  • A plan for clear and efficient communication of updates
  • Reviewing and updating goals and expectations
  • Optimising ways of working

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants should be able to understand:

  • the change process and how it affects individuals differently
  • the power of positive psychology and coaching to harness motivation and engage your team
  • techniques for effectively communicating with teams and individuals, including office-remote hybrid teams
  • the skills needed within your team to work in a remote or hybrid team effectively
  • how to handle conversations around HR issues associated with the return to the office e.g. when an employee does not want to return to working from the office or does not feel safe to do so.
