Leading the way through technological change

Success in any industry arises from several factors, some within and some outside the individual practitioner’s control. The interface between innovations in, and applications of, technology have profound implications for those managing and leading in such environments. Tony Gandy, Visiting Professor, The London Institute of Banking & Finance, considers the leadership challenges of developing strategy in Fintech.

Tony has a background in studying the conjunction between technology and financial services strategy. Since gaining a PhD from the London School of Economics he has worked in financial journalism, investment banking and as a consultant to the banking and technology industries. He publishes research on technology-driven change in the financial services sector, the development of the computer industry and industrial policy.
He lectures on The London Institute of Banking & Finance Masters programmes, teaching modules on Bank Structures and Strategy, Bank Regulation and Customer and Channel Strategies. He is also a Visiting Professor at Ulster University Business School.
