Join us for our second event looking at the importance of investing in women.
Women play a catalytic role towards sustainable development. They are also at the helm of emerging local economies, however the post-2015 Millennium Development Goals (MDG) have yet to take into account gender equality and women’s empowerment. One could argue that post-2015 MDGs should include women economic empowerment and access to assets or finance. To build healthy societies, developing women as leaders and understanding how different cultures influence the power of investing in women also has to be addressed.
Hear the insights and individual stories from our diverse panel including an award-winning filmmaker to professionals & individuals making a difference. Get inspired by their unique approach to advancing women empowerment.
You will also be able to take part in this interactive and inspiration session by asking questions to our panelists. Tweet your questions to us @London4acumen #leadingwomen or email: firstname.lastname@example.org with Leading Women in the subject line.
The funds raised through the tickets sale will be donated to Acumen. The evening will be chaired by London+Acumen volunteer Sandrine Henton, the founder of Educate Global Fund.
This special evening will include:
- Anna Small: Campaigner from Panties with Purpose, raising awareness about the ‘inside story’
- Smaranda Gosa-Mensing: Head of Learning UK and Professional Development Manager at McKinsey
- Fiona Lloyd-Davies: Award-winning filmmaker and photojournalist, Seeds of Hope
- Servane Mouazan: Founder and Director of OGUNTE CIC and Make a Wave, the first Incubator for Women Social Entrepreneurs.

When & Where
London+Acumen is a group of passionate volunteers who work together to promote the values of Acumen within the London community, and to spread the word about how impact investing and patient capital can be used to challenge the way the world tackles poverty.
We run courses, events, projects and initiatives that spread the word about impact investing, build capability within the social enterprises and bring people together who are passionate about supporting Acumen's mission to change the way the world tackles poverty.
We are one of 24 chapters around the world seeking to apply the principles and values of Acumen within our own communities. Please vist our website, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for more information about us and to see our upcoming events.
