Description

This interactive event will combine practical workshop sessions, informative talks and networking opportunities to explore themes related to developing a CI community in a Higher Education setting. Suitable for practitioners, leaders or anyone with an interest in Lean or continuous improvement, the event will be an opportunity to learn and share with like-minded colleagues.

Agenda:

9:45am - Registration and refreshments

10:15am - Welcome address

10:30am - Plenary session: How can we embed a CI mindset in our institutions?
A fun and interactive session for all delegates to generate ideas and share good practice

12:00pm - Lunch & networking

12:40pm - Parallel sessions: Tools and Case studies
These three shorter sessions will provide opportunities for delegates to learn about and try different approaches and tools for themselves

  • Translating face-to-face training to a blended learning environment - Angus Brown, Imperial College
  • The Car Park game: learn to distinguish between value and failure demand - Claire King, University of Leicester
  • Agile games: self organisation, batch processing, adapting a process, process control - Karl Royle, University of Wolverhampton

Organiser of LEAN in HE: Developing a CI Community

Lean HE North and Midlands and Lean HE London and South are both regional groups of the Global LeanHE community of practice. Both groups run a series of free seminars each year aimed at anyone with an interest in Lean in HE - this is their first joint event.
