Description

Lean in HE Southern (UK) Regional Group

- register now for our regional seminar on Service Design and User Engagement – approaches for harnessing people power in your institution

About this Event

The event is hosted at King’s College London on Monday 20 April and will run from 10.00 – 15.00, including lunch.

Our agenda starts with an introduction to King’s approach to Business Process Reengineering and a talk from keynote speaker Jean Mutton.

In this session, Jean will give a brief overview of service design methodology and lead an interactive workshop on what ‘good’ means in a higher eduction context, including top tips for the design of inclusive services which meet the needs of both staff and students.

After lunch and networking, we will hear from our second keynote speaker Alice Trethewey, University of Plymouth. During this session she will explain the approach that they are taking to Change Management and Engagement and share some of the lessons they are learning around how to have positive engagement from academic colleagues, as well as creative ideas for increasing student participation in improvement initiatives.

We will end the day with updates from the Lean HE International Conference held in Michigan in November 2019, and news from our other regional groups across the network.

The day offers plenty of time for colleagues to network and discuss the approaches and opportunities available to harness people power in your institution.

If you have a story you would like to share on the day, please contact Tom Laws (Lead Business Analyst) and member of the Regional Steering Group) at tom.laws@kcl.ac.uk
