Lean Management in a Maritime Setting

Technical Lecture of the IMarEST Auckland Branch, presented by Mr Ravi Kulatunga, Neptune Pacific.
Mr Kulatunga is implementing LEAN into Neptune Pacific and the programme is releasing significant capacity within the business with accompanying business growth and cost reductions.
He will draw on his 20 years’ experience in this business area, utilising LEAN and other business improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Kaizen, to demonstrate how integration and process improvement are realisable in the low margin shipping environment. He will present cases that have realised benefits to the business that is enabling growth.
The context of organisational culture and the LEAN concepts, methodology and tools employed will be discussed briefly.
