Learn about how to report to the United Nations. Then put your learning into practice by reporting on the state of children's rights!

About this event

Join our introductory event, as we share what it looks like to report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child!

What will this session cover?

  • An overview of children's rights sharing what they are, what they mean and where they come from
  • An introduction to the reporting cycle for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Q&A with one of Together's children's rights experts

Follow up your learning by jumping right into a discussion group! Inform our current reporting to the United Nations by joining the optional second half of the session. This will involve sharing with us an on-the-ground picture of the state of children's rights across Scotland.

What will you be asked in these discussion groups?

What do you think are the top three issues facing children and young people living in Scotland?

Who is this session for?

You might be new to the children's sector, missed one of our membership induction sessions or just want to learn more. Whatever your reason, you're invited to sign up for this session!

We really want our report to the United Nations to reflect the experiences of our diverse communities across Scotland. To do this, we want to encourage and support the involvement of those who are marginalised or who work with marginalised children and young people. If there is anything we can do to support your participation, please let us know by contacting: naomi@togetherscotland.org.uk

Can't make the session?

We get it. Life is busy! So if you can't make this session, do not fear! We will be hosting children's rights reporting events later this year which you can join. By subscribing to our e-newsletter you can be the first to hear.
