Coeur Sauvage invite you to join Sam at Dalkeith Country Park for a perfect introduction course to the world of foraging

About this event

Coeur Sauvage are thrilled to invite you to Dalkeith Country Park, a beautiful Country Park filled with wonderful nature , wildlife and walking trails, to bask in the dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy and explore the wonderful plants and mushrooms that call these forests home.

Dalkeith Country Park is well-known for its ancient trees and adventure activities, but what else will you find beneath the canopies? Join Sam, our course leader, for a monkey around in the trees beneath Go Ape, and reconnect with a more primal way of eating!

This course is a perfect introduction to the world of foraging, designed to encourage you to get out there and learn more!

Featuring a two-to-three hour, leisurely walk along well-trodden paths and a skills-based identification session, we hope to inspire, in you, a passion to learn and teach you the techniques to do it safely.

Although the paths are well-maintained, we recommend you wear sturdy footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting a little mucky!

Dalkeith Country Park is fully stocked with amenities offering hot drinks and hot food, toilets and much more. We will be delivering a small tasting platter of wild preserves and cold, cooked food, so will need dietary requirements when you order your ticket!

We ask you to please bring a small cup (no glass or ceramic please), some cutlery and a pen & paper. We’ve got disposables if needed but reusables are better!

Tickets are £35 per person over 12. Children accompanied by a guardian are free of charge, but we must stress that our courses are not designed with children in mind at this stage and they must remain under supervision at all times!

Pets are however incompatible with the slow pace of the foraging walk. We are sorry, we love dogs, but regrettably they are not allowed on the courses.

Car parking is charged by the venue at £3. This goes towards helping maintain this beautiful place.

The courses offer the opportunity to sample wild food although bring a pack lunch and drinking water. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the store and the Kitchen at the Restoration Yard.

For customers with allergies or mobility needs - Before booking please inform us if you or any person in your group has a food allergy or special mobility requirement. This gives our team a chance to deal with any requests. It is important that you contact our team if you have allergy or mobility concerns prior to booking at courses@coeursauvage.scot.
