About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 15 minutes

Join our panel of experts for a free, policy-focused session at the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) on Sunday 7 September, 15:15–16:30 CEST. The event, which is open to all WCLC attendees, will highlight ongoing lung cancer initiatives; showcase how these efforts support policy and advocacy; discuss opportunities for involvement; and illustrate the impact of these collective actions at the national, regional and global level.

What do this year’s policy developments in lung cancer mean for you?

The adoption of the lung health resolution at the World Health Assembly, and the development of the Bridging the Gap in the Diagnosis and Management of Lung Cancer global consensus statement, mark a pivotal moment in elevating lung cancer on the global policy agenda. By using these tools to guide national strategies, secure funding and build cross-sector alliances, we can accelerate progress and deliver meaningful change for people affected by the disease.

Panel members:

Dr Mary Bussell, TriMar Strategies

Professor Andreas Charalambous, Cyprus University of Technology, University of Turku and IASLC Global Policy and Partnerships Committee

Dr Xiaoshuang Feng, International Agency for Research on Cancer

Professor Herbert Loong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Coalition Against Lung Cancer

Dr Yannick Romero, Union for International Cancer Control

Dr Mahdi Sheikh, International Agency for Research on Cancer and IASLC Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation Committee

While the session is free to attend, we would appreciate you registering your interest to help us coordinate the event.

Please note, this event is taking place as part of the World Conference on Lung Cancer and attendees must be registered to participate in the conference to gain access.
