About this event

Hello and welcome. My name is Claire the Ethical Tailor. In this class you will learn to alter a garment of your choice in a private class of with a friend. The ability to complete this depends on the quickness and accuracy in completing each stage, it is preferable that you know how to use a sewing machine. This class is1 to 1 or can be a 2 person max group class. You will be learning techniques that align with your abilities and take home all that you complete for reference. Bring a readiness to learn and maybe a notebook. You will enjoy a pleasant environment with a patient tutor near Canning Town station. I have 6+ years experience teaching sewing skills and 15+ years in garment making and tailoring. All equipment is provided for your learning experience. As a business for good we collect donations for our Pay It Forward scheme to allow for people unable to afford classes. Frequently asked questions

How big is the class/ how many people can attend??

The class can be a maximum of 2 people. Either brought as 1 ticket for 2 people (friends or family) or as 2 separate tickets for 2 random individuals to meet at the class. You can also ask for a private 1 to 1 class.

What is a student?

A student is anyone studying at the same time as booking the class.

Do i need experience in sewing?

It is preferable to have some knowledge of using a sewing machine. Though, no experience is needed in garment making or alterations.

Do i need to bring anything?

Please bring a garment to alter. All equipment is provided. You are welcome to bring your own machine.
