----------
This hands-on workshop is for developers who want to get started with serverless without the complexity of cloud deployments. We’ll focus on the essential skill of local development and testing. Using Docker and a simple Node/TypeScript project, you’ll learn how to build, test, and debug your Lambda functions on your own machine. This approach simplifies the development workflow, reduces iteration time, and helps you avoid costly mistakes in the cloud.
While we'll be focusing on a Node/TypeScript Lambda, these concepts can be duplicated for almost all Lambda runtimes.

How do you want to get there?
Init
This is the warm-up and preparation phase. As you arrive, you’ll have a chance to mingle with other attendees and get your laptop set up. We'll have a quick checkpoint to ensure you have the lab repository cloned and are ready to start the main session on time.
Plan
This is where we lay the groundwork. We'll start with a brief, high-level overview of the problem we're solving and the solution we'll be building. We'll outline the tools we're using and why they're the right choice for the job. You'll understand the "why" before we get to the "how."
Execute
This is the core, hands-on part of the workshop. Using a standardised environment, you'll code along with us as we build the project piece-by-piece. Our Lab Assistants will be on hand to help you troubleshoot and ensure you keep up with the pace. This is where you'll get your hands dirty and bring the plan to life.
