Start your journey into a new hobby that you can take with you wherever you go!
Crochet is a supremely portable hobby; all you need is a hook, yarn, small scissors and a tapestry needle. They will tuck in the corner of a small bag and I love to pull them out as an alternative to scrolling on my phone whenever I am out and about and I have the satisfaction of having made something pretty!

Working at your pace, we will start by learning the basic stitches. Over the four days we will learn about working in rows and in the round. We will make a granny square and learn the popular technique known as amigurumi. On the last day, if there is time and we have a few brain cells left, we will have a look at more complex stitches.

Hobbies are meant to be fun, and my workshop is run with that in mind: there's no pressure to learn quickly, we will work at a pace that's comfortable for you, aiming to make sure you have a solid foundation to build on. You may learn one or two stitches, or you may learn half a dozen - either's great!

About Elena

I have been sewing and crocheting since childhood, and while my mum and grandma showed me the basics, I am mostly self-taught. About 15 years ago I started sewing more regularly, making dance costumes for my daughter's dance schools, and this has developed into a small business to which I have added my crochet work, which mostly includes jewellery and miniature art.

Crochet is my therapy; it takes my mind away from overthinking, relaxes me and is fun!
