Learn the basics to drawing a realistic eye in 1 hour! + Tips & Advice, chance for a Q&A and open discussion on how drawing aids wellbeing
About this event
The eyes are one of the most important features in a portrait drawing, it is the essential feature which tells us the most about an individual, eyes are the window to the soul after all!
So I'm here to offer step-by-step guidance on how to structure the eye and get familiar with learning how to construct a standard eye shape, as well as shading techniques to make it look realistic.
Materials you will need:
Pencils (preferably at least 3 of different density) - my suggestion would be a HB, 3B and 6B
Eraser
White fine liner pen
Paper (I'm using Strathmore Bristol Vellum surface)
A ruler
Tissue + cotton buds (*optional*)
Any realistic drawing process involves two basic things
Creating an accurate initial sketch.
Developing a range of different tonal values by using proper pencil strokes and blending techniques
In this realistic eye drawing workshop, you are going to learn the step-by-step process from beginning to end, with tips and advice given along the way to aid your learning.
There will also be a chance for participants to share their drawings with one another, ask questions and discuss any aspects of it or of drawing in general, including a chance for discussion to do with the importance of drawing for wellbeing. This is of course optional, and there's also the opportunity to engage or ask questions through text instead!
For beginners - more advanced artists, this workshop is for anyone with an interest in drawing and who wants to develop/refine their skills in a safe and encouraging environment!
This will be my first ever workshop so please be kind :)
