Overview

We will be tracking down Spring edibles & healing plants putting in an appearance in hedgerows & woodlands.

Have you always fancied learning to forage?

Do you go out walking and wish you could return with one of those gorgeous baskets full of foraged goodies to cook up a storm in the kitchen?

If your foraging knowledge begins and ends with blackberries for a crumble and sloes to make Christmas gin, we can help you up your game and feel confident to get out there and forage with gusto!

This foraging walk, will include identifying, harvesting a range of Seasonal wild plants & fungi. It will also include lovely tasters of our own wild food and drink creations along the way. We love concocting great tastes with our foraged treasure and want to inspire you to do so too!

This isn’t an outdoor lecture though, it will be relaxed and informal. We want you to be engaged in the process and there will be some opportunity to hand pick your own wild edibles, so bring a basket or a reusable vegetable net.

*The day will start with a quick introduction … to ourselves and to the law and ethics of harvesting wild food.

*We will walk through beautiful woodland, hedgerows & along streams stopping to identify both edible, medicinal and poisonous plants.

*You will be in good hands, with a complementary therapist and chef running the day! Both members of the Association of Foragers with many years of foraging experience, we have had plenty of practice making good use of wild plants, so will be suggesting some great recipe ideas and talking a little about the medicinal use of wild plants too.

*No two days are the same, it is difficult to predict a strict running order, so we will allow nature and the plants we come across dictate the way the day unfolds! Of course, due to the unpredictability of nature and the seasons, we also can’t predict what we will find on the day. Nature gives no guarantees!
