Learn to make Macarons!
Wed 9 November 2016, 12:30 – 15:00 GMT
This is a relaxed, friendly workshop, taking participants through the entire process of baking delicious French macarons.
You will make the macarons from scratch yourself, under the guidance of Anwyn, who has made more macarons than she cares to count!
From weighing your ingredients, whipping egg whites to firm peaks (we will do the ‘over the head’ test to check!), to perfecting the dreaded ‘macronage’, you will learn all of the skills needed to be confident in baking your own macarons at home.
While your macarons are baking, there will be a break for tea, and a chance to sample some pre-made macarons.
You will be led in making a selection of delicious fillings for your macarons, before completing your creations, and packaging them up beautifully to take home with you.
These workshops are held in a home-kitchen and so are limited to two participants at a time. As a result, you will be able to work on your own batch of macarons, at your own pace with no need to share.
Anwyn was trained to make macarons in London in 2011. Since then, she has made countless batches of these gorgeous little treats, which are perfect to give as gifts, or to keep as delicious treats.
These workshops are held in Anwyn’s home kitchen in Bedfordshire and only two people are taught at a time, so that you get a really personal experience.
Macarons are naturally gluten-free and, as Anwyn is Coeliac, so is her kitchen! Fillings can be made dairy-free on request.
Host your own Macaron Making class! Gather a group of friends, and I will come to you. As long as you’ve got a big enough space, with access to an oven and hob, I will bring everything you need to make your own gorgeous treats!
