Discover for yourself the benefits of meditation

Daily meditation is recognised as an effective way to reduce stress and to improve concentration and the quality of life. Many people are now discovering it’s also a very practical way to improve ourselves and develop the capacity to help others.

By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstance. Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time, rather than an unbalanced mind that oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency.

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

About the Classes

Everyone is welcome. Classes are offered seated on chairs. Each class is self-contained and includes an initial breathing meditation, a talk (see class topics) and a second meditation.

There is always time for discussion, to ask questions and for advice on how to improve your practice of meditation at the end of each class.

Classes are guided by experienced teachers who will inspire you by explaining the benefits of meditation, share step by step instructions and offer practical advice for daily life.

What will each session consist of?

Each session will include a combination of teachings and guided meditations with an opportunity to discuss during the break time.

Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?

No. You can choose to sit on chairs, or cushions if you prefer to sit cross-legged. You don’t need to bring anything else with you, but some people like to take notes during the session, so feel free to bring a paper and pen.

What if I’m new to this?

Everyone is welcome to participate and will benefit both new and experienced people alike. Our reception staff will happily recommend some follow-on reading or classes after the course if you are interested.

More questions?

Contact 020 8455 7563, or info@meditateinlondon.org and Constance will happily help you with your query.
