Learn to Ride - Free Adult Cycle Training in Halifax
Thu 17 November 2016, 14:00 – 15:30 CET
CityConnect Cycles: Free cycle training for adults!
Learn to Ride is one 1.5 hour session. Please select your preferred date. This session will take place at OSCA in Ovenden. Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the session as we need to get each participant matched up with a bike and ready to ride.
Do you want to learn to ride a bike? Whether you're starting completely from scratch or have been trying to learn and just need a bit of support to get you riding, a CityConnect Cycles training session could be just what you're looking for.
You will be in a small group with a qualified Bikeability instructor who will run this short, friendly and fun session to give you the skills and confidence to get riding.
If you have your own fully working bike that you would like to bring with you that's great. However you don't need a bike to take part, you can use one of ours. We have a range of sizes and can find one to suit you. You simply need to bring yourself and wear comfortable clothing and trainers or something similar. Make sure you dress for the weather as the session will take place outside. This means warm clothes and gloves if it's a bit chilly and a waterproof coat if it looks like rain!
There are two further levels of training to progress through: Level 1 which is developing bike handling skills and confidence in a traffic-free area, and Level 2 where you will cycle on quiet local roads. You can register for these now if you like, or after you have attended the Learn to Ride session.
We are also running sessions in other areas of West Yorkshire. All courses and venues are listed on Eventbrite.
