This course is for youth sailors. It is open to any youth sailor over the age of 8, but as it is still early in the year it would be better if participants had some previous experience, preferably having completed an RYA Stage 1 or 2 course.

The Club is an RYA Training Centre for dinghy sailing and this course will be an RYA Youth Learn to Sail course run by qualified instructors.

In general, the younger sailors will sail Optimist dinghies and the older sailors will sail Laser Pico dinghies.  We also have Wayfarers which are larger dinghies which will accommodate the instructor as well as students and are useful when conditions are more challenging and for sailors who need the added confidence of having the instructor in the same boat as themselves.   Instructors will allocate boats on the basis of age, size and ability.  

The courses will run Mondays to Thursdays from 10:00 to 16:00 throughout the summer holidays from RCIYC and will cost £250 per sailor.
