Description

DESCRIPTION

In today's society it is all too easy to feel lonely and disconnected from others and this can have a negative impact on our mental health and the quality of our life.

Here at Talk for Health we know that true connection happens when we let go of our social masks and start being who we really are and that this is why we run our 4.5 day wellbeing programme: to help you feel more connected to yourself and other people.

Our Programme teaches the skills of authentic talking, empathic listening and managing a group. This enables all our graduates to go on and join or set up their own ongoing groups for connection and wellbeing. Without the need for professional therapists - which is why we call them peer-to-peer support groups. We believe that by learning these basic skills, people can support each other and make a real positive difference to their mental health.

We invite you to come and enjoy a two hour taster session of our programme, which is FREE, to find out if it is right for you.

The taster will give you a chance to experience some of the four key learning areas of our full programme:

  • Open and truthful talking

  • Empathic listening

  • Basic counselling skills

  • Building supportive relationships

Come join us and learn how to talk to for a fit mind!

If you enjoy the taster session you can sign up for the full programme. The times and dates for this programme are as follows:

DAY 1 - 26/05/2018, Saturday, 10:30 - 16:3

DAY 2 - 31/05/2018, Thursday, 17:00 - 19:30

Please note that you will need to attend all six sessions outlined above at Islington Central Library, 2 Fieldway Cres, Highbury East, London N5 1PF (only the taster session is held at St. Luke's Community Centre)

After the programme you will have access to free peer support groups, more psychology learning opportunities and a growing community of caring and supportive people!
