Overview

This course will teach you the basics of how to use a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, instead of using Auto settings.

You will learn to use the more creative functions of your camera, which will give you the confidence to take full control of it, to achieve the photos you would like to take.

This includes details of how to hold the camera correctly, as well as the basics of different Exposure modes, and practical help on how and when to use them. It also includes the basics of photographic composition, to make your photos stand out.

By the end of the session, you will know how to take full control of your camera, and when to use the various settings you have learnt. As you learn what your camera is actually doing, you will also have plenty of time to put your new skills into practice, as well as asking any questions as you go along, so you will develop an understanding of how to use all the settings, and which settings are best to use for any different scenario.

Paul is a highly respected professional photographer and tutor, with many years experience in all areas of photography. He also has his own Studio (based in Leeds), and can offer other photography courses to suit your interests. He also founded The Yorkshire School of Photography in 2004, and has taught lots of people from all walks of life over the years.

No previous experience or specialist equipment required - Just come along to the session, with your camera, a memory card and fully charged battery. A DSLR or Mirrorless camera is required, along with a 'Standard or Kit' lens (the one sold with your camera). To make full use of this course, your camera must be able to switch to Manual Mode. If you do not have such a camera, you can use one of our spare, professional grade cameras, fully equipped with professional grade lens, batteries and memory card (at no extra cost)

If you are looking to make a career out of Photography, you can also be shown how to set up your business, including tips for correctly pricing your jobs, etc.

Course will be strictly a one to one session (or for you and a partner/friend), to allow you plenty of time for tuition and asking any questions, so book early to avoid disappointment. Limited availablity.
