Event description

Description

Prosecution and Defence counsel await the verdict in the trial of Philip Bullimore, a high profile football manager. Each of them is guarding a secret. As events unfold relationships, careers and the true course of justice are all put on trial.

"Learned Friends" is a "lively, intelligent legal cliff-hanger" (Leamington Spa Courier), a "warm, witty and suspenseful work" (Eyesoretheatre.com) performed in the atmospheric setting of a working Crown Court. Early scenes take place in the jury assembly area before cast and audience relocate to one of the original Victorian courts in this Grade II Listed courthouse. Every courtroom drama needs a verdict and the cast are the last to learn it. At the start of the play the performers are unaware how it wil end ... let the jury decide.

The performance takes place by kind permission of the Resident Judge, HHJ John Potter.

This event is generously sponsored by: Brewin Dolphin, Burton Copeland Solicitors, Kings Chambers and Lincoln House Chambers.

Not suitable for Under 13s.

Ginny Davis Productions will donate £5 from every ticket sold for the event to The British Red Cross Society, a registered with charity no. 220949 in England and Wales and SCO37738 in Scotland) for its 'Manchester Emergency Fund' supporting the victims of the Manchester Bombing. Full details about the Fund can be found at redcross.org.uk.
