Learning Behaviours: A Practical Guide to Self-Regulation
Event Information
About this event
In this online training event, Sue Cowley will explore ways in which teachers and practitioners can support children to build positive behaviour. She will look at self-regulation: what it is, how it develops and how you can help your children learn to regulate their behaviours. She will share a series of approaches and strategies to support children with their behaviour and handle challenging behaviours in your setting or school. She will discuss ways in which practitioners and teachers can establish clarity of expectations and take a proactive approach, helping children to build their behaviour skills and develop their ability to self-regulate. She will examine the link between language, communication and behaviour, exploring ways to frame what you say to best support children's learning.
In this event, Sue will examine how you can use co-regulation to help children move towards self-regulation. She will look at the role of routines in allowing children to feel safe while building their regulatory skills. She will also share practical strategies that teachers, practitioners and support staff can use to communicate more effectively, establishing clear boundaries and helping children build empathy, control their impulses and become more able to regulate their emotions. This will be a practical and engaging session, with plenty of opportunities to interact and to share thoughts and ideas.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to purchase Sue's book on self-regulation at a 30% discount.
