About this Event
SUSE is the lead partner in the Disability Employment Gap Public Social Partnership (PSP) which has been commissioned by the Scottish Government.
The Disability Employment Gap PSP is a unique and forward-thinking initiative in the Scottish employability landscape. We aim to contribute to the ambition set by the Scottish Government in The Fairer Scotland for Disabled People – Employment Action Plan, to half the Disability Employment Gap by 2038.
As part of funding made available from the partnership, we are delighted to offer employers a free Learning Disability Awareness introductory session.
This course will be presented by partner organisations Scottish Commission for Learning Disability and Values Into Action Scotland, who work to ensure full rights, choice and control for people with learning disabilities & individuals on the autistic spectrum.
This session will cover:
* Introduction to learning disability and common difficulties that people face
* Reasonable adjustments’ and how to implement these
* Strategies to include and support people with a learning disability
This course is available on the following dates:
Wednesday 10th March, 10am-12noon and hosted by SCLD
Friday 26th March, 2pm-4pm and hosted by VIAS
