Learning for Sustainability in Teacher Education: Exploring opportunities for teacher professional learning
Our first event will share the new National Framework for LfS in Initial Teacher Education and explore opportunities for teacher professional learning in this area.
The event will begin with an introduction to the National Framework for Learning for Sustainability in Initial Teacher Education. Claire Ramjan (University of Glasgow) will describe the evolution of the framework and outline our hopes for how it might be used to support practitioner enquiry around LfS in Scottish schools.
Using the ‘4 C’s’ of Curriculum, Cultures, Communities, and Campus, Lizzie Rushton (University of Stirling) will use a series of ‘touchstone questions’ to inspire, frame, and focus professional enquiry questions. These discussions will ask you to focus on LfS in your own settings and help you to work towards an enquiry question that you could take back into your own professional experience.
Finally, Beth Christie, (University of Edinburgh), will bring the event to a close with a reflective summary of the key points of discussions and ‘orientations toward actions’ going forward.
