Learning Matters- Values
Friday, 30 October 2015 from 08:00 to 09:30 (GMT)
As part of our Special Interest Group, Learning Matters, we are organising a get together on Values.
An organisation’s values are developed to be the aspiration for the organisation on what and how it would like to be. Ideologically, values seem a great concept that should add meaning to an organisation, sharing a set of principles that govern the decision making and the way they treat staff and customers.
Many of us can identify however, with organisations whose values sound great on paper but are actually full of people behaving contrary to these and often in very negative ways. Their values are not embedded. Indeed often they are lengthy, not easy to remember (less than 29% of employees know their company values) and get looked at once a year perhaps during the appraisal review process.
So can creating an organisation’s values really ever work in practice?
If you are interested in learning more and/or thinking of developing Values in your workplace this Learning Matters session is for you.
We will look at:-
Who is considering introducing them and who has them already?
How are they used?
How can they help business?
How can the success of values be increased
This is a great chance to bring together likeminded professionals together to share their experiences, learn from each other and discuss thoughts and ideas in a confidential setting.
Professional photography and video production will be taking place at the event, and these images may be used on future promotional materials for CIPD. Please note that by attending the event, you are giving your consent for your image to be used on any CIPD promotional materials.
