Approx. 1 hour

For staff and students: This virtual session will continue to build on the Library Orientation event and the materials offered through the Welcome Hub. Each session will be student-led and facilitated by your Faculty Learning Developer and Learning & Research Librarian. These sessions are intended to take place in the 3 weeks following the main welcome week to avoid information overload and to ensure you learn about our offer at a point of need:

The virtual session will offer a brief introduction to:

  • Your Learning Skills team
  • The guidance available via workshops and tutorials
  • Key skills to develop whilst at university
  • The Learning Skills Hub
  • Your digital library

For staff: We will not offer any specific skills development (such as finding books, planning an assignment, etc.); therefore, we recommend you also liaise with your faculty micro-team to organise bespoke embedded workshops to support students' academic progression. As these sessions are an introduction to our offer, they are suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate entrants. If you cannot find a suitable event date, or have any specific requirements for this introduction, please contact your faculty micro-team.
