LEATHER WOMEN

by Raminder Kaur

directed by Lisa Goldman

LEATHER WOMEN is a new theatre work-in-progress that draws upon oral histories of diverse working-class women who worked in leather factories in Walsall in the 1970s. Foregrounding the role of strong and feisty women, this gritty comedy spotlights their vibrant lives and how they played a formative part in Walsall's social and economic history when Walsall was the centre of leather goods production in Britain before its slow decline. It also integrates oral histories and the stimulating contents collected by the Walsall Leather Museum.

Come and be a part of its creative journey with a rehearsed scriptreading.
