27 and 28 September 2025, Graffiti tours 1130 and 1400
Free, but donations welcome
Join our tour and discover the ways in which people have left their mark on our building over the years. What do we know about why they made these marks and what mysteries remain? Be warned - once you start spotting historic graffiti it is very hard to stop!
Part of the York Unlocked festival.
Maximum number per tour 15 people. Any spaces remaining will be made available to visitors on the day, but please book to avoid disappointment.
(Please note that the 1130 tour on Saturday 27 September is preceeded by a talk exploring types of historic graffiti across various sites entitled "Hidden in Plain Sight: A New Insight into Historic Graffiti". This event is also free (although donations are welcome) and tickets can be booked here:Hidden in Plain Sight: A New Insight into Historic Graffiti Tickets, Sat, Sep 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite)
