Description

Age International and HelpAge International invite you to participate in a seminar with senior policy makers, practitioners and technical experts on the topic of ‘Leaving no woman behind: Addressing violence against older women’.

Despite progress in the past 20 years in raising awareness and directly tackling violence against women and girls across the world, women in later life are still all too often excluded from policy and programme interventions. Worrying gaps in data sets remain on violence against older women, preventing inclusive and effective policy and programme responses.

Delivering the SDGs requires us to work collaboratively to prevent violence and protect all girls and women across their entire lives and to find new ways of including older women in the response.

We will welcome an older survivor of violence from Moldova to share her experiences, followed by a panel and audience discussion to consider why older women continue to be routinely excluded from VAWG policies and programmes, and to explore how we can work collaboratively to address this gap.

If you cant join us you will be able to watch the event, which will be livestreamed on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/HelpAgeInternational/videos/10155889701366575/?notif_id=1511544394794311¬if_t=live_video_schedule_broadcaster
