Event description
This lecture will provide some insight into the most effective employability-enhancing experiences, for students in Health and Life Sciences

About this Event

The inception of Careers & Employability (C&E), University of Liverpool's new student-led Career Studio drop-in (the first of its kind in the UK), has provided the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Team in C&E with a unique opportunity. They have been awarded the time to become more deeply rooted within the faculty, extending what they can deliver to students.

Many students from across HLS enter employment or further study upon completion of their studies. The challenges that they face include:

  • Students often struggle to enter their preferred workplace destination.
  • They haven't yet developed a fully formed professional identity.
  • They often lack the skills to aid their progression in the workplace.

To address this challenge we are approaching employability and the student experience in creative and innovative ways, with the knowledge that the most effective employability-enhancing experiences are; immersive; engage students in reflection; and are connected to the curriculum.

Come along to discover more about how C&E are working with colleagues within HLS to support student transitions into the workplace and further study. You can find background information on the C&E restructure, and what this means for HLS, via the Inside Life Science newsletter.

Please note that a light lunch will be provided, and the venue will be announced to attendees once confirmed.
