Lecture on Fukushima - Looking towards the future -

Dr Alan Cresswell
A physicist with 20 years experience in measuring radioactivity in the environment, Dr Alan Cresswell has
been measuring the distribution of radioactivity in the towns, orchards and forests of Fukushima. He will talk
about the remediation of Fukushima Prefecture, with particular emphasis on the challenges of forests.
Dr Leslie Mabon
An interdisciplinary scholar interested in the relationship between people and the environment, Dr Leslie Mabon undertakes research in Iwaki on the southern coast of Fukushima. He will talk about how Fukushima’s coastal communities are working to restart fisheries after the nuclear disaster .
There will be also a brief presentation from Ex-JET Ms Natalie Donohue on her experience in living and working in Fukushima for 2 years.
