Lecture on Innovation- in person event
Overview
Due to unforeseen circumstances it has been necessary to postpone the advertised evening talk on Tuesday. As an alternative, past-President Dr Andy Pearson will present some thoughts on Innovation, using examples from his career in Industrial Refrigeration to illustrate the points. This talk was delivered as a keynote address at the Herrick Conference at Purdue University in 2018 and explores the characteristics that define someone as innovative, asking the question whether these features are innate or the behaviours can be learned and coached. He hopes that everyone will leave the lecture with a new way of thinking, or at least with an appreciation that a new way of thinking is possible.
