Description

Setting up a Fire Rescue Service in Asella

Tony Sharma

Tony Sharma is a Nano technologist by profession and has worked on projects concerning the conservation of historic monuments in Ethiopia.

In this presentation, however, he will talk about the work he has done with Rotary International and specifically focus on the experience Rotary Tower Hamlets had in 2011 in Asella, a town in the Oromiya region about 175km from Addis Ababa, that led them to help set up a fire rescue service.

The Anglo-Ethiopian Society is affiliated to the University of London’s Centre of African Studies (CAS) and all of our events at SOAS are co-hosted with CAS.
