The Royal Collection, the reign of Elizabeth II. Lecture and lunch with Nicholas Merchant.
In this occasional series of a lecture and lunch, explore the developments in the Royal Collection in the 63 years of the Queen's reign. In the early days the collection was recovering from the aftermath of the second World War, but now it is the finest in the world. With the magnificent Queen's Gallery in London and an outstation at Holyrood in Edinburgh, the collection is available to more people than ever before, assisted by a splendid website. This lecture also explores the additions made to the Royal Collection in recent years...not all as traditional as you might expect.
An optional two-course lunch is available, from 12.15pm. Please advise if you will be staying on for lunch.
This event has been organised by the West Yorkshire Volunteer Fundraising Committee to help raise money for the Art Fund.
